LEAN TRANSFORMATION IN PRODUCTION PROJECT

Lean manufacturing (LM) is a philosophy that many manufacturing organizations have adopted and successfully implemented. The results achieved by these companies - streamlining flows, shortening cycle times, reducing inventories, reducing losses at every point, etc. - are whetting the appetite of more and more companies and they are looking for lean transformation. The project we have designed starts with a detailed analysis of the companies that want to transform their production systems to LPS and includes the stages of determining the current and ideal situation of the company, bringing order and discipline to the working areas.

The activities we will carry out within the scope of the project are briefly described below:

YU Diagnostic Analysis

With this study, we reveal how well the company fulfills the activities that are necessary for the successful implementation of the MA philosophy and which aspects are failing. Our diagnostic analysis covers the core and support processes (Product Flows, Quality Management, Maintenance, Human Resources Management, etc.) from the receipt of orders to the delivery of products to the customer.

Creation of Existing Value Stream Maps

Value stream maps map the movement of a product within a company, allowing us to easily see and distinguish between value generating activities and wastes. In this study, we create current state value stream maps for all key product families in the company.

Creating Ideal Value Stream Maps

An ideal value stream map shows the leanest possible situation by mapping the ideal movement of a product within a company. By comparing it with the map in the current situation, we reveal which activities should be prioritized within the company with this study.

Ensuring Order and Discipline in Working Environments

This method, also known as 5S, focuses on eliminating order and discipline problems that lead to time losses by reviewing work areas in detail. With this work, we ensure simplification at every production point where value production takes place.

Enterprise-wide Lean Production Trainings

Throughout the operation of our project, we provide trainings at all levels, from top management to production personnel, to ensure that the understanding of the Higher Education Unit (NEU) is established.

Within the framework of the project, observations and interviews will be supported by audio and video recordings where necessary. At the end of our project, we will deliver our written report to the company and we will also present our findings to the company employees with a visual presentation.
